August Washout
Sorry for the delay in the news reports, we have been quite busy with match reports and fishery maintenance etc. June and July produced some good consisitent fishing, mainly silver fish, the majority of the carp have decided that they would rather feed in the evening time as demonstrated by Eric Delaney at the back end of July with a 15 fish haul in just a couple of hours fishing floating bread with the cigar method, the largest going 13lb (see photo gallery) one of 11lb, one of 9lb and the rest between 4 and 7lb. Some good club match results have been recorded with silver fish weights of nearly 50lb being recorded. Since August the weather as been up and down to say the least with water temperatures having fallen from 22 degrees centegrade down to 17 degrees in the space of a week. This as resulted in some up and down sport with some good weights winning matches but some people have struggled to keep fish comming into the net. Hopefully September will bring an Indian summer and a return to settled weather and some decent fishing.
